Reed Ginsberg is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Shinkei Systems, a seafood innovation company that powers the technology behind premium fish brand Seremoni. Seremoni Grade seafood sets a new standard for the world’s best fish – delivering unparalleled flavor, texture, and freshness that has made it a favorite among Michelin-starred chefs. At the heart of Seremoni’s success is its proprietary technology, developed under Ginsberg’s leadership. The company has engineered an AI-powered robotic system that automates Ike Jime—a centuries-old Japanese method of humane fish harvesting. These systems are deployed directly on fishing vessels, enabling American fishermen to process fish within seconds of catch. This precision dramatically reduces stress on the animal, resulting in superior product quality and extended shelf life. Ginsberg brings a background in aerospace engineering to his role at Shinkei, having previously spent four years at SpaceX, where he led the Avionics group on the Starship rocket. His experience designing the most powerful rocket ever built directly informs his work at Shinkei, where similar engineering rigor is applied to the challenges of the environmentally harsh maritime environment and modern seafood industry. Ginsberg graduated from The University of Pennsylvania, with a dual degree B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School. He also completed a Masters in Robotics from Penn Engineering. Born and raised in New York, he now lives in Los Angeles with his wife Samantha.
